ORIGINAL GERMAN CLASSIC SONNENLAND CLOTH WITH SEWN-IN PLASTIC WINDOW

This BMW 3 Series convertible top is manufactured in the USA from the factory original German Sonnenland Cloth/Canvas that has been imported from Haartz Germany.
BMW Convertible Top
WINDOW:
Includes a new slightly tinted plastic window. The window is sewn into the convertible top for strength and durability. It has been double stitched and includes finishing trim piping on the exterior.
BMW E30 Convertible Top Window
FABRIC:
Manufactured using premium German Sonnenland Classic cloth/canvas.  German Sonnenland is a three-ply composite made of an acrylic twill weave outer fabric, a rubber inner layer and a polyester lining fabric.  Want to learn more? The material in this top comes from the German factory so you can be sure the color, texture, look and feel will match the original convertible top.

BMW Tension StrapsIMPORTANT:
You may reuse your existing tension straps, however we recommend you purchase replacement straps whenever you replace your top. Tension straps lose their elasticity over time and the front or rear loops may break. Failure may cause damage to your convertible top and void your warranty.   • Precision cutting with automated computer guided equipment
  • The entire top is cut from the same bolt of cloth for consistent color & pattern
  • Stitched with matching colors using the finest bonded polyester threads
  • DOT approved heavy .040 gauge sewn-in, tinted plastic window
  • Factory-style hand-rolled bindings
  • Factory-style brushes are sewn into the rear quarters
  • Deck seams are heat-sealed as original without tape
  • Windows are double stitched and include finish trim piping on the outside
  • Metal spring coils are sewn into a pocket around the window for a factory finished fit
  • Front corners are reinforced for added durability

1990 BMW Convertible Top December 6, 2011

I'm absolutely pleased with the top.  I did have questions about the recommended installers. "Gold Coast  " in Ventura California gave $750.00 as an estimate to install the top and Tension Straps. I took it to Quality Auto Upholstery: 1582 Callens Road, Ventura, California 93003 (805) 642-1918 & (805) 642-3015.  I used them about a year ago to replace the rear plastic window.  To remove & install the new top and Tension Straps, I was charged $450.00.  I highly recommend this company for this installation.  I suggest you consider using them as one of your recommended installers.  Also, the company in Oxnard on Ventura Ave does NOT do any convertible top installations.  You listed them as an installer (can't remember their name)!!
