About the Window
Includes a new slightly tinted plastic window. The window is sewn into the convertible top for strength and durability. It has been double stitched and includes finishing trim piping on the exterior.
About the Material
Manufactured using premium quality Haartz Twillfast II cloth/canvas. Twillfast is almost identical to the original German topping material. Like the German it’s a three-ply composite made of a twill weave outer fabric, a rubber inner layer and a polyester/cotton lining fabric.
Tension Straps
You may reuse your existing tension straps, however we recommend you purchase replacement straps whenever you replace your top. Tension straps lose their elasticity over time and the front or rear loops may break. Failure may cause damage to your convertible top and void your warranty. I am giving AutoTopsDirect only 2 stars out of 5. Here’s why:
I ordered a 1989 BMW convertible top and decided to add the optional tension straps for an additional $130.
Ordering was easy and I received my product in only
2 days.
During the installation, I really didn’t need the new tension straps at all. I did not poem the box and didn’t use the straps.
I contacted support to get a return authorization number so I could return the tension straps for a refund. The support person gave me an RMA number over the phone. Returned the item and received the refund in a few days with no problem.
II would recommend the AutoTopsDirect website for ease of use and quality of the convertible top I received.
