Design changes for 1990-1994 Mercedes SL Convertible Tops

In the 1990-1994 Mercedes 300-600SL the convertible top design included a buckle in the window section that was attached to elastic and screwed to the frame.

In 1995 and newer models, Mercedes realized this was a bad design as it was damaging the convertible tops. They changed their design to remove the buckle and used elastic and canvas instead.

All of our 1990-2002 Mercedes-Benz SL convertible tops incorporate this new design feature. The new design will fit the 1990-1994 model years.
