ABOUT THE WINDOW
Includes new DOT rated heated glass window. From the exterior, the edge around the window has a clean, finished appearance with no piping needed to hide stitching, gluing or imperfections that may arise from other bonding methods. The fabric has been carefully notched by a computer controlled cutter around the radius to ensure proper adhesion around the entire perimeter to eliminate potential leaking. The technology is unique and protected by worldwide patents and we guarantee the bond to the original purchaser for the life of the vehicle.
Years of development and engineering went into this convertible top window bonding method. The objective was to design and develop a manufacturing method and process that would virtually eliminate window separation or leaking….the number one failure for glass window convertible tops.
The result was a patented production technology that involves wrapping the fabric around an internal ring that adheres to the glass.
A new bonding agent was specially created by 3M engineers based on military specification during the development phase to ensure this adhesive, when applied in a multi-step automated process, could withstand extreme tension in all temperatures.
Ordered this product on Saturday evening and it shipped out the next day. The product arrived on time and was as advertised. The installation was easy and straight forward. I would order this again if needed.
I was disappointed that the top had a five year warranty, but the top window section only had a 1 year warranty. Also the installer listed for my area does not install any top, or partial that was not sold by them.
I’ve replaced many convertible tops, just not a Mustang back window so I was familiar with the process. The part came quickly. Packaging was excellent. Pricing was fair. Qualty of the replacement part was top notch however the link to the instructions was broken. Since it was during the holidays I didn’t feel the need to ask for the install instructions. It would have been easier and faster to replace the whole top rather than spend the extra time to get the new window section to line up with the crusty twenty year old top. If you’re a first time DIY’er be prepared to spend a few hours to get the job done. Don’t rush. Split it into a couple of days if you have to and measure twice! If you’re not so adventurous have an upholstery shop do it for you.
After waiting for a period of time my rear window and cloth came. The the installer had a bunch of vehicles in front of me but its all done now and looks great! Thanks for the phone help!
No problem with part quality. On the website where you order it it says it comes with downloadable instructions. When I tried to click on the link after I place my order and received it they not able to download the instructions I emailed customer service and they told me there is no instructions so I’m kind of aggravated. I won’t buy nothing no more from them.
