ORIGINAL HAARTZ TWILLFAST II CLOTH WITH SEWN-IN PLASTIC WINDOW
Our 1994-1999 BMW 3 Series convertible tops are manufactured in the USA using the original patterns and specifications to the original vehicle. OEM original BMW Twillfast II (Sonnendeck) canvas is from The Haartz Corporation. It is a premium quality topping with 100% dobby weave lining fabric as original.
WINDOW
Includes a new slightly tinted press-polish plastic window as original. The window is sewn into the convertible top for strength and durability. It has been double stitched and includes finishing trim piping on the exterior.
MATERIAL
Manufactured using first quality American Twillfast II cloth / canvas with a dobby weave inner lining. The canvas topping is a three-ply composite made of a twill weave outer fabric, a rubber inner layer and a polyester / cotton lining fabric.
TENSION STRAPS
You may reuse your existing tension straps, however we recommend you purchase replacement straps whenever you replace your top. Tension straps lose their elasticity over time and the front or rear loops may break. Failure may cause damage to your convertible top and void your warranty.
I was impressed with the website, which made it very easy to find information for my older vehicle. The shipping was fast, and the quality of the product seems very high. I haven’t installed it yet as I didn’t realize how bad the headliner in my E36 convertible really was, so I am waiting to get that before I mount the new top. So far, so good.
They helped me on the phone making sure I was ordering the correct part for my BMW. They didn’t have it available to ship immediately, so they promised to ship it by week’s end. They they in fact shipped a day early.
My top will be installed next week, but it looks great out of the box. The installer was impressed.

Cover received on a timely matter as promised. It had a perfect fit and form. I ordered a tension straps as well that was highly needed. I’m very pleased with my purchase. It has a great texture and quality.
After a couple of years of riding around in my ’98 Bimmer with a 20-year-old cracked rear window — who came up with the plastic idea, anyway? – I finally took the plunge. The whole process cost more and took more time than anticipated – unfortunately, I didn’t catch that a couple extra parts needed to be purchased separately – but the final result is two-thumbs-up, so I am happy driving as the summer in Central Valley Kaliforny shifts gears into way too hot, but so it goes.
