This BMW 3 series convertible top is manufactured in the USA from factory original German imported Haartz Sonnenland.
About the Window
Includes a new slightly tinted plastic window. The window is sewn into the convertible top for strength and durability. It has been double stitched and includes finishing trim piping on the exterior.
About the Material
Manufactured using premium German Sonnenland Classic cloth/canvas. German Sonnenland is a three-ply composite made of an acrylic twill weave outer fabric, a rubber inner layer and a polyester lining fabric.
Tension Straps
You may reuse your existing tension straps, however we recommend you purchase replacement straps whenever you replace your top. Tension straps lose their elasticity over time and the front or rear loops may break. Failure may cause damage to your convertible top and void your warranty. Shipped and delivered relatively quickly. Received my convertible top in 4 business days. Top comes with extra canvas from window cutout. Personally used to protect plastic rear window upon install. Fit and finish of the higher quality $440.00 top was very close to original BMW top with the exception of thin foam like flap under the rear window.
My son and I installed the top on our e30 in about 6 hours over a couple days. Great quality, flawless. The factory YouTube video and BadCab’s R3V how-to are all you need — plus patience and time. And tools and contact cement.
If I could change one thing on the tension straps, I’d make the little fabric flaps that cover the screws longer. It matched the factory flaps in size, but the flap on my rear-most hood bar was a touch short and the screw tops would contact the top without an added bit of fabric.
