Convertible Top with Heated Glass Window
This 1994-2002 Chevrolet Camaro convertible top is manufactured in the USA using the original patterns and specifications from the OEM top. The convertible top is manufactured from Haartz Stayfast, a three-ply composite topping material.
FABRIC
Manufactured using premium Haartz Stayfast canvas. This is the same material in certain Camaro models. The topping material is a three-ply composite made of acrylic square weave outer fabric, a rubber inner layer, and a cotton lining.
After the new convertible top has been fitted to your car, you will find the resulting product appearance and quality indistinguishable from a brand new original top. The windows are DOT approved and feature the emblem to assure compliance. The topping material is a three-ply composite made of acrylic square weave outer fabric, a rubber inner layer, and a cotton lining.
The top was just like the factory, with the exception that the rear window is attached to the fabric slightly different, and sit just a little higher than the original. While I’ve just installed it, it seems like this design may be a little stronger. The dimentions seemed to be perfect, and the seams were sewn and bonded well. Window has oriental lettering on the inside, but seems to be quality. There is a lot of fitting and testing that goes on during the install, It’s definitly one of the more challenging projects to do on a car. I followed a how-to at camaroz28(dot)com after reading several how-to guides (some good, some not so good). This one seemed to me to be a reasonable approach: http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/appearance-34/convertible-top-replacement-step-step-lots-o-pics-638740/
