About the Glass Window
New DOT rated glass window is securely bonded into the rear window section. From the exterior, the edge around the window has a clean, finished appearance with no piping needed to hide stitching, gluing or imperfections that may arise from other bonding methods. The fabric has been carefully notched by a computer controlled cutter around the radius to ensure proper adhesion around the entire perimeter to eliminate potential leaking. The technology is unique and protected by worldwide patents and we guarantee the bond to the original purchaser for the life of the vehicle.
About the Fabric
Manufactured using premium sailcloth grain vinyl like the original, but is a two ply composite made of a PVC sailcloth grain outer layer and a 100% polyester inner lining for superior flexibility and longer life than standard cotton backed materials.
In model years 2000-2004 Ford added a rubber weather seal sewn into the top that provides additional protection to the interior from the weather and some reduction to exterior road noise. This weather seal is sewn into all of our Mustang tops.
The top shipped and arrived as advertised. The installation instructions were not current or accurate. Its unclear what the warranty is for the glass bond to the fabric – website/ads indicate lifetime / page two of instructions indicates 5 years. It is obvious from disclaimers that the main intent is for a professional to make the installation. The top was different than the photos in the instructions. After discussion with the company (positive experience) I was told that there was a design change and the top would work. This proved to be the case during the installation. In the end, mission accomplished – the top looks very good. The experience could have been better with better instructions and notification of the design change from Sierra. I relied heavily on You Tube videos and other internet resources to gain confidence to install the top. Price and customer service were the positives in this experience.
the fit and look was really good. I just never recieved any instillation instructions with the product. so make sure you don’t throw out your old top and take plenty of picture before you dismantle everything.
