The Mercedes SL convertible top is two pieces. This is the seal that goes between the two pieces and is recommended to be replaced when installing a new top. Although your existing seal may be reused, a new weather seal at this location is helpful in keeping your top from leaking.

Just like the original because it is the original.
The top seal is very inportant it compleats the the job. The cables that help hold the top on also have to be serviced and they are sold separately. I had to replace 3 of the 5
at 2 for 22.50 ea. and one for 147.95 us.
With the top,seal,and cables I got a great looking top.
If we had not ordered this seal, we would not have been able to finish. The seal should actually be sold as part of the convertible top, not a seperate piece.
