  1. Had the professionally installed by an upholstery installer here in Chicago ($750) and it looks great.

  2. I headed the warnings and took my time and I am very pleased with the outcome. Top is better quality than the original. I did reuse the cowl molding for the rear windows.

Once the top was stapled to the back and installed I was concerned that the top was too tight…..Well I parked her outside in the sun to relax it some and low a behold I would give it a exact fit and now closes easily.

One thing I did learn on this top when Staplin the top I used Stainless Steel staples and a upholstery air gun I had. The top has a notch that matches up with the center and a notch in the tacking rail. I still used a tape measure for sewing to measure form side to middle form both sides.

When executing step 69 and 70 in the drawing make sure you pull the the sleeves up over the rail and then wrap back under the rail not the other way around. This lines up the seam on the back bow perfectly.
Also by the tension cables they will be needed.

  3. my new convertible is perfect and i soooo appreciate the huge savings and great service. thank you !

  4. The product went on with a lot of elbow grease. It looks as good as or better than OEM. The instructions leave a little to the imagination; don’t try this unless you’re pretty skilled with basic hand tools and have a good memory for how things went together – take a lot of pictures while you take it apart, and it will go back together “the first time”. Above all, take your time and be PATIENT!

  5. The Top is nice, however, instructions cause at least 2 hours delay by not being what they should? Guys, a little bit of procedure refinement would be nice. How about an adjustable hole punch for holes? Not just an awl? And the holes for the tack strip bolts? Also, cut off old top plastic side pieces, trim, and place back on over new cover, just behind rear side windows. Looks good installed installed in the end!! To save $800 for install, if you have done breaks before and have some good mechanical aptitude, pay yourself $800 a day and do it yourself. You will need two people at some point for install however. Good luck!!
