This Eclipse convertible top is manufactured in the USA using the original patterns, specifications, materials, and designs. It is just like the original in material and color, but has a better window that is guaranteed to not leak or separate.
ABOUT THE WINDOW
Includes a new DOT approved tinted heated glass window. The window is bonded securely using the advanced window bonding system exclusive to our supplier.
ABOUT THE FABRIC
Manufactured using premium Haartz STAYFAST canvas, which was the factory original topping material for the Eclipse Spyders. It has excellent UV protection making it very resistant to fading from exposure to the sun.
SUGGESTED ACCESSORIES
You can reuse your existing convertible top headliner, however if you would like to replace it at the same time and take advantage of the discounted price. The Mitsubishi Eclipse Headliner is made from the original Dane Cloth in Black.
Canvas was good quality and arrived quickly (after I paid $150 in shipping alone) for an urgent project. The headliner was $125 and was surely included in my price, but never came in the mail. It’s been a few days, and still no headliner. I thought perhaps it would have been rolled/folded in with the canvas, but it definitely was not. I reached out 7/20/23 via call AND email to contact customer support to no avail. It’s now 8/4/23, and I’ve yet to hear anything back. Currently disputing the charge with the company and it’s crickets there too, so…yeah. Maybe just get the canvas because you’ll never receive half of your order. I’m sure this won’t get their attention either or won’t be posted since it’ll be swept under the rug.
Could see daylight through the original 2003 roof and was getting water inside. Time for a new one.
Install completed on 5/10/22… so far, so good. Good fit and quality with no leaks. Good instructions. Took longer than expected (approx 14 hours… I’m meticulous). Most challenging parts of install:
– removing the rear bow from the roof trunk. Tough to maneuver in and out. Ended up scratching one of the rear windows. Might have been easier to raise rear windows when removing/replacing (didn’t think about it).
– cementing the front of the top to the frame. Placement must be just right to get a tight fit when closed, but unable to close until contact cement is dry. Contract cement was slow to dry, so ended up fitting and refitting to get placement just right. Kept top open slightly to dry and used every clamp I had (8) plus my wife’s potato chip bag clips to ensure the roof bonded properly. It worked.
Overall, very happy. Will update review if it changes.
I ordered the top but never got the headliner at which I paid $135 for.
was everything I had hope it would be…from the ease of ordering, to speed of delivery, to packaging and to quality and ease of installation this purchase exceeded every expectation. It is a quality top and now my 2004 Mitsubishi looks 15 years younger. 5 stars across the board!
