ABOUT THE MATERIAL: Sailcloth Vinyl is the original material for the 2007-2013 Wrangler JK. It is a heavy weight 2 ply composite that has a “sail grain” pattern in the exterior facing. Sailcloth has superior performance characteristics than either earlier model Denim or Diamond vinyls and will last considerably longer. As well, sailcloth has enhanced acoustic properties that lower the noise levels at highway speeds.
The top was delivered in a week as promised. The fit is perfect. The bottom plastic pieces that slip into the rail on the jeep are a nice tight snug fit, better than the original top. The sailcloth material is much softer and more flexible than the old top. There is a little wind noise but not near as much as the old one. I hope over time the noise will diminish as the top will find its happy place. I was concerned that I took out 14 screws on the header and only 8 went back in but it looks good and there is NO wind noise from the front of the top. We have not had any rain in over a month so driving in the rain will be my last test. We also tow the jeep behind a motorhome and will see how that goes. It only took my wife and I just under an hour to install it. I am very impressed with the top and will recommend it to all who ask.
