Our VW Beetle convertible tops have been designed to our exacting specifications starting with uncompromising attention to quality and engineering. They are manufactured in the USA using patterns and specifications to the original vehicle. This includes Volkswagen’s original German A5 Canvas fabrics and OEM color options. German A5 Canvas is imported direct from Germany and is a premium quality topping with 100% polyester lining fabric.
About the Window
Tinted glass window with embedded defroster wiring. The rear window is securely bonded to the canvas topping material such that there is no external stitching or piping around the outside edge of the window. The convertible top window bonding system provides an exceptionally clean look and extremely secure bond.
About the Material
Manufactured using premium German A5 canvas. This OEM original raw material is imported directly from Haartz Germany. The canvas is an acoustically enhanced three-ply composite made of an acrylic twill weave outer fabric, a rubber inner layer and a polyester lining fabric.
So pleased with the new top on my 11 year old ‘New Beetle.’ Had to order the headliner as well. Now everything is installed, and the car looks brand new!
Ordering was easy and the top looks great.
We purchased a top for our 2006 VW Beetle that we had a difficult time finding at a reasonable price. Only few vendors offered the German A5 fabric in the light cream, or beige color; Auto tops Direct did – and at a competitive price. My wife and I spent all day changing it out, but struggled with the instructions available from Autotops Direct, or even online. The quality of the top is awesome; but the instructions are inadequate.
