This third generation of the Toyota MR2 is known as the MR2 Spyder in the US, the MR-S in Japan and the MR2 Roadster in Europe. Toyota MR2 Convertible Top Fabric Options
The original MR2 Spyder convertible top fabric is a Pebble Grain Vinyl. We also offer a Haartz Cabrio Vinyl and Haartz Stayfast Cloth as alternatives to the original. Below is an explanation of the differences in the varous fabric options we have available.
PEBBLE GRAIN VINYL
This is a two-ply composite with a light pebble grain texture PVC outer layer and a polyester/cotton inner lining. This original MR2 material is imported from Japan and will be the best choice if you are looking to restore your vehicle to its original look.
STAYFAST® CLOTH
Haartz's cloth topping materials are constructed using a 3-ply method. The additional inner layer provide a higher degree of external sound attenuation. The 3-ply composite consists of an acrylic outer layer, a butyl rubber inner core and a smooth texture cotton inner lining. This is a much richer material with a softer and non-shiny appearance that has been rated excellent for resistance to fading from extended exposure to the sun.
